Did someone ask for more poetry? No? Well, too dang bad.
I’m sorry that you have to go I wish that you could stay Throw all of this stuff away It’s a little late now But I guess that I should say I was with you all the way Dreams and schemes and made-up truths That never seemed to lay Perfectly inside this hole I made Somehow I will fix it up But for now I’ll say I was with you all the way Failures, bruises, tears and pain All thrown into the fray Make you want to run away But sometimes it’s things like these That convince the heart to stay I am with you all the way I am with you all the way.

~TheTexasLass
A touching a portrait of two people in love, one of whom sees that their heartbreaks are really what gives their love meaning and depth. Good job! A nice, thoughtful rhythm and mood throughout.

I’m so glad that came across! This one has a tune, like my Candle poem, but also like that I haven’t the faintest idea what to do with it. Thanks for the lovely comment!
